Watched Maltese Falcon tonight… it was sort of not what I expected. I think I expected more twists, more intrigue, more believable romance, perhaps. In these movies, it’s always the tall dashing man and the tiny attractive woman confessing love but I have no idea where they find the time to fall in love while they’re off chasing bad guys and lying to each other. I suppose I didn’t find the chemistry believable at all and the ending sort of fell flat for me. I thought it would be more clever, I suppose.
But in spite of all that, spending an evening watching Humphrey Bogart isn’t exactly a hardship.
