72. Visit 5 art galleries/museums (5/5)
If I had realized that I was going to visit 5 galleries/museums in NYC I probably would have made this more like 10, but five it is. Completed!
So, The Met. It’s incredible. So much art in one space. Lovely Susan put up with my whining while we looked at the masters (anything before 1880 is pretty much boring to me. I can’t even help it) and I put up with her gallery wandering (such a hardship). We saw the egyptian stuff and the modern stuff too which was amazing. One of my favourites was Perseus with the head of Medusa for some reason. I think because it’s through this doorway and you just walk through and it’s sort of in your face.
Of course that whole American Wing is gorgeous (as you can see for yourself, above). I’d definitely love to go back when we have some extra time to go exploring (we went on the last day when we had to be back at our hotel for our airport shuttle in a couple hours). Not sure if I can do the Masters but I’ll try!
