71. See a play
I really should have this listed as ‘show’ instead of play because I meant any sort of theatre piece and musical theatre definitely counts, so I’m counting this under ‘see a play’.
Anyway, we saw Mary Poppins on Broadway and it was incredible. They had entire moving house sets where the entire first and second story moved backwards and the bedroom in the attic was lowered. Mary pulled an entire coatrack and lamp out of her carpet bag just like in the movie. Crazy neat technical stuff in this production. The songs were really good too. Some originals from the movie, some new pieces and some of the original pieces from the movie were changed, usually made longer, for the show.
The whole thing was just incredible magical from start to finish. I’m definitely glad we picked this show. Made me feel like a kid again!
